‘This is a good school, which is highly committed to working in partnership effectively with other schools and organisations. A number of strong features give it a distinctive character and good quality of provision. The school has a caring ethos, the result of consistently good care, guidance and support provided for the pupils by the committed headteacher and her staff.’

A message from the Head

Dear Parent / Guardian

Ofsted

As we come to the end of term and a long hard winter I want to thank you all for your continued support. The term began in quite a different manner with unavoidable school closure due to snow, and our doors were no sooner open when Ofsted called. I hope, like us, you are all proud of the good report we received. If you have not read the report, a copy is available from the link at the top of this page.

Attendance

Unfortunately attendance was again an issue so we therefore need you to be fully committed to ensuring your child attends school every day. We continue to work extremely hard providing the best possible education for your child but we do need them to be in school in order for them to progress at the normal rate.

Please avoid odd days off and extended visits abroad during school time as this greatly hinders your child’s progress and ultimately their achievement. Attendance awards have been presented to the parents of Zdenek Kocka 6R, Ilsa Ahmed 4W and Qasim Mahmood 3M.

Associate Headship

The Local Authority has asked me to do an Associate Headship at Stoneyholme Primary School, Burnley. I will work from April to September, 3 days at Lomeshaye and 2 days at Stoneyholme which will be a flexible arrangement, dependent on the needs of each school. Lomeshaye is in a good position in it’s own development, with a strong Leadership Team, therefore we are confident this arrangement can be positively facilitated. I can assure you that this will not impact on quality and standards or the leadership and management of the school.

I wish you and your family a happy spring holiday. School begins again on Monday 19 April.

Yours sincerely,

A. Pleasants

Headteacher
